MAN: reliable commercial vehicles for over 100 years

The roots of Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg, for which the acronym MAN stands, go back to 1758. However, the company has only been known under its current name since 1898. Later MAN engineers were also significantly involved in the development of the diesel engine. However, the production of its own automobiles, exclusively trucks, had to wait until 1915.

Today, as part of Volkswagen AG, MAN is one of the largest vehicle and engineering groups in the world. With a 30% market share, for example, the company is the market leader in Brazil and has strategic partnerships with truck manufacturers in China.
